Community State Bank Employees Raise Funds Supporting Sexual Assault Awareness Month
For Immediate Release:
St. Charles, MI - For the fourth consecutive year, bank employees at Community State Bank participated in National Denim Day – a day established to increase public awareness to prevent sexual assault.
Employees at Community State Bank raised $311 dollars by donating money to this cause, which allowed them to wear denim jeans to work on April 24, 2015. “Wearing jeans on “Denim Day” during April’s National Sexual Assault Awareness Month has become an international symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault,” explains John C. Wendling, First Vice President, Retail Manager and Business Development Officer. As a local community bank, we believe it’s important to raise awareness of issues that affect the families and businesses in our communities.
While the designated National Day was April 29, local organizers at Child and Family Service (CFS) of Saginaw said businesses and organizations could select any day during April to mark National Denim Day.
Carrie Schultz, National Denim Day local coordinator at CFS for the fundraising effort, expressed her appreciation for the donation. “We are very grateful to accept this monetary donation on behalf of Child and Family Services. The money will be put to good use in support of our efforts to aid victims of sexual assault, who are being helped at the Sexual Assault Center.”
