Community State Bank Announces Promotions, New Arrivals

St Charles, MI (April 26, 2012) – The Board of Directors of Community State Bank recently announced new board member John D. Zelinko, the promotion of John C. Wendling and Abby B. Hoover and the arrival of Douglas J. Kelley and Dawn M. Federspiel.
“As we continue to grow and expand our operations in the community, it has become necessary for us to increase our levels of expertise and customer service,” explained Community State Bank President and CEO Robert Wolak. “These promotions and additions will help us to meet the demands of our industry and the financial needs of our customers.”
John D. Zelinko joined the Board of Directors. Zelinko began his career in farming selling agricultural chemicals. In 1976 he joined his brother to farm over 4,000 acres and maintain a herd of Registered Angus cattle. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.
John C. Wendling is promoted to First Vice President, Business Development Officer and Retail Manager. Having joined the Bank as Chief Financial Officer when Community State Bank and Montrose State Bank merged in 2007, Wendling was President and CEO of Montrose State Bank for 16 years. Wendling has his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Bank Administration.
Abby B. Hoover is promoted to Compliance Officer. Hoover started her career with the Bank in 2004 and worked her way up the ranks to Loan Officer and Assistant Cashier. She has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University.
Douglas J. Kelley joined the Bank as Chief Financial Officer. Kelley served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Fentura Financial, Inc. and The State Bank in Fenton, Mich., for past 11 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Dawn M. Federspiel joined the Bank as Mortgage Loan Officer and Manager of the Thomas Township Office. Federspiel served as Mortgage Loan Officer for Bank of America where she was responsible for originating, processing and closing mortgage and consumer loans. She also partnered with branch offices to promote bank services.
