To help ensure the security of your online transactions, Community State Bank wants you to know………..
· We would never call, email or ask you for your password or username. Protect yourself by changing your password every 60 – 90 days. Do not share your electronic information.
· Help protect yourself by choosing an adequate user name and password. Mix uppercase and small case letters, as well as adding in numbers.
· Purchase and have in place a firewall when doing your banking transactions.
· Always Log Off the system when you are done conducting business. Do Not just close the page or “X” out of the system.
· Monitor your account activity on a regular basis.
CSB may require owners of commercial accounts to perform
risk assessments and controls evaluations.
Make a list of the risks related to online transactions, for example:
· Passwords being left in the open
· The use of old passwords
· The possibility of internal theft or fraud
· Delays in terminating the rights of former employees
An evaluation of controls your business uses may include.
· Use of password protected software
· Employee background checks
· Segregating duties among two or more people so no one person has too much access
· Conducting internal or third party audits of controls
· Using firewalls to protect from outside intrusion or hackers
